Lock City: Week 3 NFL Picks

Miggles Season Record 10 – 8 – 2

Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) at Washington Redskins (1-1)

I don’t like the line at the momet especially with the Redskins losing to the Rams and losing two of their best defenders in the process, but it is their home opener and RGIII and the Skins will be jacked up. As such, I like the total a lot more as these are two high flying offenses at the moment and with Cincinnati struggling defensively and the Skins without Orakpo and Carriker I think this one fly’s over 46.5.

Miggles Pick – OVER 49

Atlanta Falcons (2-0) at San Diego Chargers (2-0)

This should be a good one as both teams defend the run well and have QB’s who can get the ball in a hurry. The QB’s are close, Rivers maybe a better arm, Ryan less likely to take a bad chance and make a big mistake but the Falcons receivers are the better group and Turner the better option at running back and that should be the difference and the points make this an even better play.

Miggles Pick – Atlanta +3

Houston Texans (2-0) at Denver Broncos (1-1)

The Texans are the team to beat int e AFC and the Broncos don’t have enough to beat them so even as a small favorite in their second of back to back road games they are the choice here.

Miggles Pick – Houston -1.5

Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) at Oakland Raiders (0-2)

The total in this one is set a little too low as today’s NFL is all about scoring and we should see some here as both of these teams have quick strike ability.

Miggles Pick – OVER 44 and Steelers – 3.5

Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) at Arizona Cardinals (2-0)

Philly looked like the team they set out to be the whole second half last week.  They held Flacco to a 6 for 20 performance in the second half on the way to their second consecutive comeback.  I think the turnovers are over and we are gonna see a full four quarters from them this time and they win by a TD here.

Miggles Pick – Philly – 3

New England Patriots (1-1) at Baltimore Ravens (1-1)

Im not too sold on the Pats D as of yet.  Holding the Cards to single digits at home doesnt sway me too much.  Ravens D is opportunistic and definitely makes things happen, but if they allow Gronk to get off like they did Celek last week, it could be a long game for them.  That being said, Im not too sure they were prepared for Celek, rest assured they have prepared for Gronk.  I think Ravens hold court at home and cover this spread easy.

Miggles Pick – Ravens – 3

Josh Morgan Costs Redskins Game

First I want to give you a direct quote from Morgan about Cortland Finnegan before the game.

“He’s one of those guys that plays—you know how they say play to the whistle? He’s one of those guys that plays until you walk back to the huddle…He’s just got a little extracurricular with him, you know.

“You don’t want to be the second guy because the second guy is going to get caught,” Morgan said. “He’s going to come at you and he’s going to be the first, second and third guy. You’ve got to remind yourself not to be that fourth and fifth guy, and throw your hands up and walk back to the huddle.”

Couple things here;  How can you be so smart and so stupid??  Like he literally talked about this situation before it happened and let everyone know how composed he can be and how aware he is of it.  I dont even think Joshy Pants realizes this could have been a great time for an incredible “I told you so”.

Throw your hands up like you said and wink at the camera and you gain like 20,000 more fans you idiot.

Redskin Snapper Breaks Arm, Keeps Playing 2 quarters. Thanks to being Tasered as a kid.

DM – Washington Redskins‘ star Nick Sundberg has attracted plaudits for his bravery after he played two quarters of Sunday’s 40-32 win at the New Orleans Saints with a broken arm.

The long snapper, who described the incident as ‘the worst thing I’ve ever put myself through’, has attributed his high pain tolerance to the fact that he has regularly been tasered – for fun – since he was a young boy.

Sundberg’s mother, Stacie, works for Taser International, maker of the most common brand of electroshock gun.

When he was nine years old, his mom took him to a Bring-Your-Kid-to-Work day. While at the company headquarters, Sundberg’s mom’s coworkers dared him to take a hit of the taser.

Sundberg tells the Washington Post that the only reason he agreed to the ‘neuromuscular incapacitation’ was because he figured his mother ‘wasn’t going to let me do it.It turns out he underestimated her. Sundberg was tasered twice that day and apparently didn’t mind the sensation too much.

This is hilarious, guy just regularly gets tasered as a kid and now hes got retard strength and the pain tolerance of an elephant.

Something tells me, his childhood went a little something like this:
