Give this guy one last shot, he deserves it:
FOX – REDEMPTION: Chipper Jones and the Braves are back in the playoffs after missing out last season following a massive September collapse. Freddie Freeman hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning that lifted Atlanta over Miami 4-3 on Tuesday night, clinching at least an NL wild-card berth for the Braves. The 40-year-old Jones, who plans to retire after the season, started the winning rally with a double.
But in reality, there’s no chance the Braves get to the world series right? I mean no chance.
LATimes – Kellen Winslow Jr. has agreed to a one-year contract with the New England Patriots, according to a report Tuesday morning on ESPN.com.
Winslow is an eight-year veteran tight end who made the Pro Bowl with the Cleveland Browns in 2007, when he caught for a career-high 1,106 yards to go with 82 receptions and five touchdowns. He has hit the five-touchdown mark two other times, in 2009 and 2010 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Kellen Winslow Jr has potential to fit in on the field perfectly with this Patriots offense. That being said, I don’t know how well the personalities of headcoach Bill Belichick and Kellen will mesh on the sideline. Winslow brings a hard to contain time bomb demeanor to the team, much like that of Chad Ochocinco minus the Diva-esque behavior. Two tight-ends of this caliber (Gronk and Winslow) will certainly create a threat for future match ups. Consider Winslow for your fantasy roster, if you haven’t already.
